The Coalition for the Diversity of Cultural Expressions and the UNESCO Chair on the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, in OBVIA, is organizing the fourth Midi de la Culture as part of the 20th anniversary celebrations of the 2005 UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.

The fourth Midi de la Culture led “Reflections on the UNESCO World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development – Mondiacult 2025”, will bring together Marie-Christine Morin, Executive Director of the Fédération culturelle canadienne-française, and Jordi Pascual, Coordinator of the UCLG Culture Committee. The discussion will be moderated by Laurence Cuny, member of the UNESCO Chair on the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, Université Laval.

This panel will highlight key outcomes from the UNESCO World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development – MONDIACULT 2025, as well as upcoming steps. The speakers, who were directly involved in the debates, will address major issues such as the recognition of culture as the 18th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), and the risks and opportunities that artificial intelligence presents for artistic creation. Through their perspectives, they will explore the main commitments made during MONDIACULT 2025 regarding the integration of culture into public policies, the protection of the diversity of cultural expressions in the digital age, and the need for a global ethical framework in response to rapid technological transformations.
