The next election is fast approaching: what are the main federal parties’ plans for culture? On September 13 at noon, the Coalition for the Diversity of Cultural Expressions (CDCE) and the Department of Communication of the Université de Montréal will present a debate on cultural issues in the context of the federal election. Spokespersons from the main federal political parties (Steven Guilbault of the Liberal Party, Steve Shanahan of the Conservative Party, Martin Champoux of the Bloc Québécois, Alexandre Boulerice of the NDP and Mathieu Goyette of the Green Party) will be invited to present their commitments to culture and to discuss solutions to urgent challenges in the cultural sector.
The debate, moderated by Catherine Perrin, will be broadcasted live on CPAC’s website, and available for replay.
Want to ask a question during the debate? Use the #cultureElxn44 keyword on Twitter or post your question on the event’s Facebook page. We will do our best to get your question to the candidates.
The CDCE and the Department of Communication of the Université de Montréal would like to warmly thank the sponsors of this event: Global Public Affairs, FRIENDS of Canadian Broadcasting, the Canadian Arts Coalition and the Caisse de la Culture Desjardins.
