As part of the twentieth anniversary of the UNESCO Convention on the Diversity of Cultural Expressions (2005), the Coalition for the Diversity of Cultural Expressions (CDCE) is partnering with the UNESCO Chair on the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, Obvia, and the Faculty of Law at Université Laval to organize a series of four conferences.

The second Midi de la culture titled “Diversity of Cultural Expressions in the Digital Age and AI: Review of the 18th Session of the Intergovernmental Committee of the 2005 UNESCO Convention” will feature two experts from the Reflection Group on the Diversity of Cultural Expressions in the Digital Environment of UNESCO, Professor Destiny Tchéhouali and Professor Véronique Guèvremont, along with two civil society representatives, Marie-Julie Desrochers and Guillaume Prieur. They will discuss the deliberations that took place at UNESCO following the presentation of the 11 recommendations of the Reflection Group on the Diversity of Cultural Expressions in the Digital Environment of UNESCO.

  • Destiny Tchéhouali, Professor at the Département de Communication sociale et publique at Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), Co-Chair of the Chaire de recherche du Québec sur l’Intelligence artificielle et le numérique francophones (IANF), and UNESCO Chair in Communication and Technologies for Development

  • Marie-Julie Desrochers, Executive Director of the Coalition for the Diversity of Cultural Expressions (CDCE) and Secretary General of the International Federation of Coalitions for Cultural Diversity (IFCCD)  

  • Guillaume Prieur, President of the of the International Federation of Coalitions for Cultural Diversity (IFCCD) and Director of Institutional and European Affairs at the Société des Auteurs et Compositeurs Dramatiques (SACD)
