On September 17, 2025, at their Annual General Meeting and the subsequent Board of Directors meeting, the members of the Coalition for the Diversity of Cultural Expressions (CDCE) elected the members of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee for the coming year.
The Board of Directors plays a key role within the Coalition, providing strategic direction and ensuring strong governance. The Executive Committee, for its part, takes on an operational role. Its members also serve as representatives and spokespersons for the fifty or so associations that make up the Coalition, representing more than 350,000 creators and professionals as well as 3,000 cultural enterprises.
The CDCE Executive Committee for the coming year is composed of:
- Francophone Co-President: Hélène Messier, Association québécoise de la production médiatique (AQPM)
- Anglophone Co-President: Bill Skolnik, Screen Composers Guild of Canada (SCGC)
- Francophone Vice-President: Jérôme Payette, Association des professionnels de l’édition musicale (APEM)
- Anglophone Vice-President: Alex Levine, Canadian Actor’s Equity Association (CAEA)
- Treasurer: Carol Ann Pilon, Alliance des producteurs francophones du Canada (APFC)
- Secretary: Christian Laforce, Copibec
The CDCE’s leadership team is completed by Marie-Julie Desrochers, who has served as Executive Director since August 2022.
The CDCE extends a warm welcome to Alex Levine, Executive Director of the Canadian Actor’s Equity Association, who joins the Executive Committee as Vice-President. The Coalition also sincerely thanks outgoing Vice-President Kay Rollans, representative of the Association of Canadian Publishers (ACP), for her dedicated service.
