Founded in 1998, the Coalition for the Diversity of Cultural Expressions (CDCE) brings together Canada’s leading Anglophone and Francophone professional organizations in the cultural sector. It is composed of more than 50 organizations that collectively represent the interests of more than 360,000 creators and professionals and 2,900 businesses in the book, film, television, new media, music, performing arts and visual arts sectors. The CDCE’s main role is to ensure that cultural goods and services are excluded from trade negotiations and that the diversity of cultural expressions is present in the digital environment. The CDCE also coordinates the International Federation of Coalitions for Cultural Diversity (IFCCD).
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the person in charge of coordinating projects and development has the following primary mandate:
- Support the organization of events (conferences, general assemblies, international delegation trips), including content research, logistics and partnerships;
- Monitor event and project budgets;
- Contribute to associative life (relations with members, drafting of minutes, invoicing);
- Contribute to the organization’s strategic and political thinking (monitoring, research, etc.);
- Edit and translate documents.
Depending on availability, other tasks related to the mission of the Coalition and the Federation may be assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in management, cultural action, communication, political science, or other related discipline;
- Knowledge of the following tools : MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience;
- Fluency in written and spoken French and English
- Knowledge of the cultural sector
- Versatility, stress management and reactivity
Assets
- Fluency in Spanish;
- Knowledge of WordPress, Adobe Creative (Indesign, Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro), social media (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn);
- Knowledge of UNESCO and UNESCO 2005’s Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.
Working environment
- The regular workday is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.
