Marie-Julie Desrochers, Executive Director of the CDCE, appeared before the  Standing Committee on Industry and Technology (INDU) as part of its study on Opportunities, Risks and the Regulation of AI in Canada’s Strategic Industries.

She emphasized that generative artificial intelligence must be governed in a way that serves human creativity, rather than the other way around. She also reiterated the policy measures that have reached consensus among CDCE members, summarized by the acronym ART: Authorization, Remuneration and Transparency.

Jennifer Brown, Chief Executive Officer of SOCAN, and Christian Laforce, Executive Director of Copibec, both CDCE member organizations, also appeared before the Committee as part of this study.
