Taking action for culture

The Coalition for the Diversity of Cultural Expressions brings together the main Anglophone and Francophone professional organizations in the cultural sector in Canada. It defends the importance of culture in the development of societies.

Maintaining cultural exemption

It advocates for the cultural sovereignty of states and calls for the maintenance of cultural exemption in all trade agreements negotiated by Canada.

Promoting the diversity of cultural expressions online

The CDCE is committed to ensuring that the diversity of cultural expressions is present in the digital environment and that Canada’s cultural content is visible and accessible online.

Being involved worldwide

The CDCE is a member of the IFCCD, which coordinates the efforts of international civil society in the implementation of the UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.
